LANDSCAPE DESIGN AND CONSULTATION
Imagine...

As you walk towards the garden, 'Lady's Mantle' and 'Lamb's Ear'
greet you. The attractive foliage and dewdrops on the Lady's Mantle,
and the thickly pubescent foliage of Lamb's Ear, draw your eye into
the garden. The appropriateness of these herbs in their location
continues beyond appearance. They both tolerate the heavy clay soil
found in many Wisconsin home sites.

The fragrance of 'Wooly Thyme' can be released by footsteps when
grown between stepping stones or along paths. 'Antennaria' aids in
Thyme’s mark upon the stones with its 2” tall attractive gray velvety,
basil foliage and 4” tall pink spring flowers.
A Mint, 'English pennyroyal' is a reseeding annual herb. In summer,
blooming lavender blossoms release a minty fragrance when stepped
on. The lavender flowers and light green foliage correspond with its
adjacent neighbors, 'Veronica'. The long lasting blooms of blue and
lavender flowers, and glossy pubescent foliage complete the
ensemble.
The 8” tall groundcover, 'Sweet Woodruff' is a perfect choice along
the bed edge. It can tolerate being mowed, and will flourish under the
canopy of a shade tree. Its abundant white clustered flowers provide
an attractive spring bloom. To complement the 'Sweet Woodruff',
'Serbian Bellflower', a creeping perennial, blooms lilac blue in early
summer just as Sweet Woodruff’s flowers are beginning to dissipate.
Each species of plant contributes to the overall theme of the garden,
whether it is of texture, color, or sight.

Are you relaxed just reading about it? It will feel sooo good seeing,
touching, smelling, hearing, and maybe even tasting your own garden.

Imagine
One way to approach a landscape
design is to start with a garden theme.
This may include movement by flower
color, plant height, and color scheme.
The grace at which this is accomplished
cannot create busyness. The space
inhibited is relaxing. A mood is evoked.
Low maintenance, cost effectiveness,
and long lasting plant attributes are
important factors to consider in any
design.
